Drive Pulley: Service and Repair




Water Pump Pulley Replacement (LDE, LXV, 2H0, and LUW) (1.8L)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the air cleaner housing. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (1.6L LDE, LXV, and 1.8L 2H0) (Service and Repair).




2. Loosen the 3 water pump pulley bolts (1).
Note: Counterhold against crankshaft balancer bolt.

3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the 3 water pump pulley bolts (1).
5. Remove the water pump pulley (2) from the water pump (3).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the water pump pulley (2) to the water pump (3).
2. Install the 3 water pump pulley bolts (1).
3. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Tighten the 3 water pump pulley bolts (1) to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
Note: Counterhold against crankshaft balancer bolt.

5. Install the air cleaner housing. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (1.6L LDE, LXV, and 1.8L 2H0) (Service and Repair).
