Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LSA)
Removal Procedure
1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor).
2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (L99 or LS3) Service and RepairAir Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LSA) Service and Repair.
4. Remove the front intake air duct and seal. Refer to Front Intake Air Duct Replacement Front Intake Air Duct Replacement.
Note: Prior to removal, take note of the A/C compressor hose assembly routing and orientation between the compressor and condenser.
Cap or tape off the open A/C components immediately to prevent system contamination.
5. Remove compressor hose nut (1).
6. Remove A/C compressor hose (2) from the thermal expansion valve tube.
Note: Always replace the A/C compressor hose seals with NEW when servicing the air conditioning compressor hose assembly.
7. Remove and discard the A/C compressor hose sealing washers (3).
8. Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector (1).
9. Remove A/C compressor hose nut (2).
10. Remove A/C compressor hose (3) from condenser.
11. Remove and discard the A/C compressor hose sealing washers (4).
12. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
13. Remove the A/C compressor hose bolt (1).
14. Remove A/C compressor hose (2) from the compressor.
15. Remove and discard the A/C compressor hose sealing washers (3).
16. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (1).
17. Remove the A/C compressor hose bracket (2) from the oil pan.
18. Remove the A/C compressor hose (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the A/C compressor hose (1) to the vehicle and ensure that the routing is what was noted prior to removal.
2. Install the A/C compressor hose bracket (2) to the oil pan.
3. Install the A/C compressor hose nut (1) and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
Note: Always replace the A/C compressor hose seals with NEW when servicing the air conditioning compressor hose assembly.
4. Install NEW A/C compressor hose sealing washers (3) to the A/C compressor hose (2). Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal Replacement Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal Replacement.
5. Install the A/C compressor hose (2) to the compressor.
6. Install the A/C compressor hose bolt (1) and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Install the NEW A/C compressor hose sealing washers (4) to the A/C compressor hose (3).
9. Install the A/C compressor hose (3) to the condenser.
10. Install the A/C compressor hose nut (2) and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
11. Connect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector (1) to the refrigerant pressure sensor.
12. Install the NEW sealing washers (3) to the A/C compressor hose (2).
13. Install the A/C compressor hose (2) to the thermal expansion valve tube.
14. Install the A/C compressor hose nut (1) and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
15. Install the front intake air duct and seal. Refer to Front Intake Air Duct Replacement Front Intake Air Duct Replacement.
16. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Service and Repair.
17. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front.
18. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor).
