Generator Replacement




Generator Replacement (LSA)

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

2. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (Except LSA) Drive Belt Replacement - AccessoryDrive Belt Replacement - Accessory (LSA) Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory.




3. Remove the protective boot (1) and remove the battery positive fastener (2) at the back of the generator.

4. Remove the battery positive cable fastener (2) and remove the battery positive cable (3), from the back of the generator.

5. Disconnect the engine harness connector (4).




6. Remove the lower generator mounting fastener (1) and the generator mounting stud (3).

7. Remove the upper generator mounting fasteners (2).




8. Remove the generator (1) from the engine compartment.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the generator (1) into the generator bracket.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the generator mounting fasteners (2) and tighten to 58 Nm (43 lb ft).

3. Install the generator mounting stud (3) and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).

4. Install the generator fastener (1) and tighten to 58 Nm (43 lb ft).




5. Connect the engine harness connector (4).

6. Install the battery positive cable (3), to the back of the generator and tighten the fastener (2) to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).

7. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (Except LSA) Drive Belt Replacement - AccessoryDrive Belt Replacement - Accessory (LSA) Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory.

8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
