Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement

Removal Procedure





Warning:
Refer to SIR Warning SIR Warning.


Note:
Carefully pull the windshield garnish moulding (2) away from the A pillar body panel (1) to disengage the windshield garnish moulding retaining clips (3) from the A pillar body panel (1).

1. Disengage the windshield garnish moulding (2) from the A pillar body panel (1).





Note:
Rotate the windshield garnish moulding to A pillar body panel retaining strap (1) to align the slot in the windshield garnish moulding (2).

2. Open the garnish moulding air bag cover to access the retaining strap.

3. Remove the windshield garnish moulding to A pillar body panel retaining strap (1) from the windshield garnish moulding (2).

4. Remove the windshield garnish moulding (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





Note:
Rotate the windshield garnish moulding to A pillar body panel retaining strap (1) to align the slot in the windshield garnish moulding (2). Make sure both barbs are inserted in the slot.

1. Install the windshield garnish moulding to A pillar body panel retaining strap (1) to the windshield garnish moulding (2).





2. Install the windshield garnish moulding (2) ensuring the bottom edge is correctly located in the instrument panel trim.

Note:

* Make sure the Roof Rail Module tether is routed below the screw attachment clip and pin feature on the windshield garnish moulding when replacing this garnish. Roof Rail Air Bag deployment maybe inhibited if incorrectly installed.

* Ensure the windshield garnish moulding retaining clips (3) are correctly engaged in the A pillar body panel (1).

3. Engage the windshield garnish moulding (2) to the A pillar body panel (1).

4. Install the garnish moulding air bag cover.
