Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement (V8)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the thermostat housing. Refer to Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Replacement (V6) Service and RepairEngine Coolant Thermostat Housing Replacement (V8) Service and Repair.

2. Place thermostat housing in a soft jaw vice.

3. Press and rotate the springs of the thermostat anti-clock wise to release it from the thermostat housing.

4. Remove the thermostat from the thermostat housing.

Installation Procedure





1. Make sure that the air bleed ball is not jammed by slightly shaking the assembly.

2. Place the thermostat (1) assembly into the thermostat housing (2).

3. Install the thermostat (1), by pressing and rotating clock wise until it locks into the thermostat housing (2).
