EN-46843 - Quick Connect Release Tool
Removal Procedure Quick Connect Fitting Type 1
Warning: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning Service Precautions.
Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning Safety Glasses Warning.
1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Service and Repair.
2. Clean the quick connect fitting (1) using compressed air.
3. Install the quick connect release tool EN-46843 - quick connect release tool over the quick connect fitting (1).
4. Disconnect the quick connect fitting from the connecting pipe.
5. Dry the quick connect fitting and the connecting pipe with a clean shop towel.
6. Inspect the quick connect fitting and the connecting pipe for damage.
7. Replace damaged parts as required.
Installation Procedure Quick Connect Fitting Type 1
Warning
In order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury, before connecting fuel pipe fittings, always apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male pipe ends.
This will ensure proper reconnection and prevent a possible fuel leak.
During normal operation, the O-rings located in the female connector will swell and may prevent proper reconnection if not lubricated.
1. Apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the quick connect fitting.
2. Push the quick connect fitting (1) over the connecting pipe (2). Listen for and audible click to confirm correct installation of the quick connect fitting (1).
3. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
1. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
2. Turn the ignition OFF, for 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition OFF.
5. Inspect for leaks.
Removal Procedure Quick Connect Fitting Type 2

Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning Safety Glasses Warning.
1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Service and Repair.
2. Clean the quick connect fitting (1) using compressed air.
3. Push the quick connect fitting (1) towards the connecting pipe (3).
4. Grasp the quick connect fitting release tabs (2) and disconnect the quick connect fitting (1) from the connecting pipe (3).
5. Dry the quick connect fitting (1) and the connecting pipe (3) with a clean shop towel.
6. Inspect the quick connect fitting (1) and the connecting pipe (3) for damage.
7. Replace damaged parts as required.
Installation Procedure Quick Connect Fitting Type 2
Warning
