Water Outlet Replacement

EN 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers

For equivalent regional tools refer to Special Tools Tools and Equipment.

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling Cooling System Draining and Filling.

2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.





3. Remove the air bleed pipe (1) and the radiator inlet hose (2) from the water outlet pipe.





4. Remove the water outlet fasteners (1)and remove the water outlet (2).

5. Discard the water outlet seals (3).

6. Carefully clean the water outlet sealing surfaces.

Installation Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the water outlet (2) with NEW seals (3) and tighten the water outlet fasteners (1) to

10 Nm (89 lb in).





2. Install the radiator inlet hose (2) and the engine coolant air bleed pipe (1).

3. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.

4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling Cooling System Draining and Filling.

5. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
