Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement




Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LFX)

Removal Procedure

1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor)

2. Remove the front intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front

3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Service and Repair

4. Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.





Note:
Prior to removal, take note of the A/C compressor hose assembly routing and orientation between the compressor and condenser.

Cap or tape off the open A/C components immediately to prevent system contamination.

5. Remove compressor hose nut (1).

6. Remove A/C compressor hose (2) from thermal expansion valve tube.





7. Remove compressor hose bolt (1).

8. Remove A/C compressor hose (2) from compressor.





9. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (1).

10. Remove A/C compressor hose (2) from condenser.

11. Remove A/C compressor hose from vehicle and discard sealing washers.

Installation Procedure

1. Install new sealing washers to A/C compressor hose. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal Replacement Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal Replacement





2. Install A/C compressor hose (2) to condenser.

3. Install A/C compressor hose nut (1) and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).





4. Install A/C compressor hose (2) to compressor.

5. Install A/C compressor hose nut (1) and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).





6. Install A/C compressor hose (2) to thermal expansion valve tube.

7. Install compressor hose nut (1) and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).

8. Connect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.

9. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Service and Repair

10. Install the front intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front

11. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor)
