Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LWE)




Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (1.8L LWE)

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the mass airflow sensor / intake air temperature sensor wiring harness plug (2).

2. Unclip the engine control module (ECM) wiring harness (3) from the air cleaner housing.

3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.

4. Remove the secondary air injection pump inlet hose (4) from the air cleaner upper housing. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Inlet Hose Replacement Secondary Air Injection Pump Inlet Hose Replacement.




5. Unclip the water drain hose (2) from the air cleaner lower housing (1).

6. Remove the air cleaner assembly (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the air cleaner assembly (1).

2. Clip in the water drain hose (2) to the air cleaner lower housing (1).




3. Install the air cleaner outlet duct (1). Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.

4. Install the secondary air injection pump inlet hose (4) to the air cleaner upper housing. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Inlet Hose Replacement Secondary Air Injection Pump Inlet Hose Replacement.

5. Connect the mass airflow sensor / intake air temperature sensor wiring harness plug (2).

6. Clip in the ECM wiring harness (3) the air cleaner housing.
