Help 4-Inspecting Hoses, Vacuum Lines & Mechanical Connections

All vacuum lines and hoses must be free of leakage and restrictions. Inspect all lines and hoses for poor connections, kinks, distorted fittings, pinched sections, and cuts. Ensure the vacuum routing is correct.

If equipped with a vacuum reservoir, inspect for cracking or other damage.

Inspect the alternator drive belt for proper adjustment and alignment.

Check the battery for loose posts, leakage, and excessively low electrolyte.

Speed Control linkage must be free of kinks and not bind. The cable must be properly attached to the throttle body and correctly adjusted.

Areas to inspect vary according to vehicle options, body style, and engine type.
