Verification Test VER-2A - Road Test Verification
ROAD TEST VERIFICATIONNOTE: Before proceeding, inspect the vehicle to ensure that all engine components are connected. Reassemble and reconnect all components as necessary.
IF THIS VERIFICATION PROCEDURE IS BEING PERFORMED AFTER A NO TROUBLE CODE TEST, DO THE FOLLOWING:
1. Check to see if the initial symptom still exists.
2. If the initial or another symptom exists, the repair is not complete. Check all pertinent Technical Service Bulletins and return to TEST NTC-1A if necessary. NTC-1A No Trouble Code Menu - Start Here
IF THIS VERIFICATION PROCEDURE IS BEING PERFORMED AFTER A TROUBLE CODE TEST, DO THE FOLLOWING:
- For previously read trouble codes that have not been dealt with, return to TEST TC-1A and follow the path specified. Otherwise, continue. TC-1A CODE TO TC TEST CHART (Checking For Trouble Codes)
- If the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), has not been changed:
1. Connect a scan tool to the PCM data link connector and erase trouble codes.
2. With a scan tool, reset all values in the adaptive memory.
3. Disconnect the Scan tool.
- Ensure no trouble code remains by doing the following:
1. If the vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, turn on the air conditioning and blower.
2. Drive the vehicle for at least five minutes and at some point reach a speed of 40 mph. Ensure the transmission shifts through all gears. Upon completion of the road test, turn the engine off.
3. Start the engine and allow the engine to idle for at least two minutes.
4. Turn the engine off.
5. Connect a scan tool to the PCM data link connector, and read all trouble code messages.
- If the repaired code has reset, the repair is not complete. Check all pertinent Technical Service Bulletins and return to TEST TC-1A if necessary. TC-1A CODE TO TC TEST CHART (Checking For Trouble Codes)
- If another trouble code has set, return to TEST TC-1A and follow the path specified by the other trouble code. TC-1A CODE TO TC TEST CHART (Checking For Trouble Codes)
- If there are no trouble codes, the repair is now complete.
