Engine Timing Cover(s) - Installation
INSTALLATION
WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury Service Precautions
1. Clean timing chain cover and block sealing surfaces.
NOTE: Always install a new gasket on timing cover.
2. Install cover and new gasket. Tighten fasteners to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.) in the sequence shown.
3. The large lifting stud (1) is tightened to 55 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the oil pan and pick up tubeEngine Oil Pan - Installation.
5. Install the dipstick support bolt.
6. Install the thermostat housing.
7. Install crankshaft damperVibration Damper - Installation.
8. Install radiator lower hose (2).
9. Install both heater hoses (1,3).
10. Install the cooling moduleEngine Cooling Radiator - Installation.
11. Install the water pump drive belt Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Installation.
12. Install the upper radiator hose.
13. Install the air cleaner assemblyAir Cleaner Body - Installation.
14. Fill cooling system.
15. Fill engine oil.
16. Perform high voltage power up procedure . Battery System - High Voltage Power Up
