Removal

REMOVAL






1. With vehicle in neutral, position vehicle on hoist.

CAUTION:
Remove axle vent tube prior to removing axle. Failure to remove vent tube will allow axle fluid to saturate the vent and cause reduced or improper axle venting resulting in axle damage.

2. Remove axle vent tube and cap port.





3. Remove axle half shafts. Half Shaft - Removal.

4. Mark (4) front propeller shaft (2) and companion flange (1). Remove front propeller shaft (2) from pinon flange and support.





5. If equipped, remove skid plate (1) bolts (2) and remove skid plate.





6. Remove suspension crossmember (1) nuts (2) and bolts. Remove crossmember.





7. Remove disconnect actuator (2) wiring connector (1).






8. Support the rear of engine with a safety stand or jack.
9. Remove the left side engine to isolator bolts (1) and isolator through bolt (2).





10. Support axle with hydraulic jack.

11. Remove axle housing pinion mounting bolts (1).





12. Remove axle shaft tube mounting bolts (1) and wire harness bracket (2).

13. Lower the axle from the vehicle with the isolator mount still attached to the axle.





14. Remove the axle mounting bolts (2) and remove isolator (1) from the axle (3).
