Intake Manifold - Removal






REMOVAL





1. Perform the fuel system pressure release procedure Service and Repair.
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable (1).





3. Lift the engine cover retaining grommets off the ball studs and remove the engine cover (2).
4. Disconnect the fuel supply line Service and Repair.





5. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor (5) electrical connector.
6. Loosen the clamps at the throttle body and the air filter housing and remove the air tube (4).
7. Disconnect the make up air hose (MUA) (2).
8. Remove the air filter housing retaining bolt (3).
9. Remove the air filter housing from the vehicle.
10. Disconnect the brake booster hose and the EVAP purge line.





11. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the following components:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor
- Short Runner Valve (SRV)
- Fuel Injectors
- Electronic Throttle Control (ETC )

NOTE: Remove the intake manifold and throttle body as an assembly.

12. Using the sequence shown, remove the intake manifold retaining bolts.
13. Remove the intake manifold and throttle body as an assembly from the vehicle.
