Starter - Removal

5.7L

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the three starter mounting bolts (1).
4. Move the starter motor (2) towards front of vehicle far enough for nose of starter to clear. Always support starter motor (2) during this process. Do not let starter motor hang from wire harness.
5. Remove the battery cable-to-solenoid nut.
6. Remove the solenoid wire from solenoid stud.
7. Remove the starter motor.
