A/C Condenser - Removal






REMOVAL

WARNING: Refer to the applicable Warnings and Cautions for this system before performing the following operation Warning and Caution . Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.





1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine trim cover.
3. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system Refrigerant System Recovery.
4. Remove the front fascia.
5. Remove the front bumper beam.
6. Remove the two screws (2 and 6) that secure the upper air dam to the radiator.
7. Remove the three screws (3 and 5) that secure the lower air dam to the radiator.
8. Disengage the retaining tabs and remove the upper and lower air dams.





9. Remove the bolt (4) that secures the A/C liquid line (1) and the A/C discharge line (2) to the A/C condenser tapping block (3).
10. Disconnect the A/C liquid and discharge lines from the A/C condenser.
11. Separate the A/C liquid line from the A/C discharge line and remove and discard the dual plain seals.
12. Install plugs in, or tape over, the opened refrigerant line fittings and condenser ports.





13. Remove the two bolts (1 and 5) that secure right end of the A/C condenser (4) to the radiator.
14. Tip the right end of the A/C condenser slightly downward to disengage the two retaining tabs (2 and 3) that secure the left side of the A/C condenser to the radiator, and carefully remove the condenser.
