Fuel Injector - Removal






REMOVAL






WARNING: The fuel system is under constant pressure even with engine off. Before servicing fuel injector(s), fuel system pressure must be released.

NOTE: To remove one or more fuel injectors, the fuel rail assembly must be removed from engine.

1. Perform the fuel system pressure release procedure Service and Repair

CAUTION: When servicing components near the vacuum pump, avoid contact with the plastic nipple that connects the vacuum pump to the brake booster hose. It is possible to crack the plastic nipple resulting in a brake booster vacuum leak.

2. Remove the fuel rail assembly Fuel Rail - Removal
3. Remove the fuel injector retaining clip(s) (2) from the fuel rail (1).
4. Remove the injector(s) (3) from the fuel rail assembly.
