Keyless Entry Transmitter Battery: Service and Repair





BATTERY REPLACEMENT

CAUTION: Do not touch or disturb the metal contacts for the battery. Avoid touching the new battery. Battery contamination from oils on your skin may result in shortened battery life. If the battery or contacts are contaminated, clean them thoroughly with rubbing alcohol.

1. Unlatch the mechanical key from the storage position on the left side of the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter case.
2. Locate the battery cassette within the mechanical key storage compartment on the left side of the transmitter case.
3. Use a small screwdriver to rotate the battery cassette lock clockwise to the Unlock position.
4. Carefully pry the lock end of the cassette out from the receptacle in the transmitter case far enough to disengage the hook on the opposite side of the cassette from the transmitter case.
5. Replace the battery with a recommended replacement battery observing the + symbol molded into the cassette case to ensure correct polarity. [1][2]Keyless Entry Transmitter.
6. Reinstall the battery cassette into the transmitter case by engaging the hook end of the cassette with the transmitter battery receptacle first, then sliding the lock end of the cassette into place.
7. Align the front half of the FOBIK case (2) with the back half.
8. Use a small screwdriver to rotate the battery cassette lock counterclockwise to the Lock position.
9. Test the RKE transmitter operation.
