Normal Operation
The system can be disabled by the parking aid switch. A 750 Hz variable warning tone is generated from a parking aid speaker. The parking aid speaker increases the warning tone rate as the vehicle gets closer to an obstacle.

DTC C1742 - is a continuous and on-demand DTC that sets if the parking aid module senses a short to ground or an open on the rear sounder positive circuit 1437 (BK/PK), or rear sounder negative circuit 1438 (DG) when the speaker is off.

DTC C1743 - is a continuous and on-demand DTC that sets if the parking aid module senses a short to voltage on the rear sounder negative circuit 1438 (DG) when the parking aid module is sending a signal to turn on the speaker.

Possible Causes
- Circuit 1437 (BK/PK) open, short to ground or voltage
