DTC 84

DTC 84: VSA Sensor Neutral Position

NOTE: If DTC 84 is stored, the VSA activation indicator does not go off until doing the VSA sensor neutral position memorization.

1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Check the fuel and emission system (PGM-FI) DTCs with the HDS.
Is a PGM-FI DTC indicated?
YES - Do the appropriate troubleshooting for the DTC.
NO - Go to step 3.

3. Do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization. Programming and Relearning
4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then turn it ON (II) again.
6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 84 indicated?
YES - Check for loose terminals in the VSA modulator-control unit 47P connector. If necessary, substitute a known-good VSA modulator-control unit, and retest.
NO - The system is OK at this time.
