Front Door Window Motor: Service and Repair






Front Power Window Motor Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Door Mirror Cover





1. Carefully pry out the door mirror cover (A) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (B), then remove the door mirror cover.

2. With tweeter: Disconnect the connector (C).

2. Front Door Power Window Switch Panel





1. Carefully pry out on the notch (A) in the power window switch panel (B) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (C) and the hooks (D). Disconnect the connectors (E), then remove the power window switch panel.

3. Front Door Panel





1. Carefully pry out on the upper hook (A) in the inner handle cap (B) with the appropriate trim tool, then pull back the inner handle cap to remove it.





2. Remove the screws (A) securing the inner handle (B).





3. Remove the pull pocket mat (A), then remove the screw (B).





4. Starting at the bottom edge of the door panel (A), detach the clips (B) with a commercially available trim pad remover.

5. Starting at the rear, pull the door panel upward.

6. Remove the inner handle (C) from the door panel, then remove the door panel.

4. Front Door Plastic Cover





1. Disconnect the connector (A), then detach the harness clips (B).

2. Remove the screws (C), then remove the pull pocket bracket (D).

3. Remove the plug caps (E), then carefully remove the plastic cover (F).

NOTE: If the plastic cover is damaged or torn, replace it with a new one.

5. Front Door Glass Support





1. Carefully lower the glass (A) until you can see the glass mounting bolts (B), then remove them.





2. Raise the glass (A), then secure the glass with tape (B). Take care not to drop the glass inside the door.

6. Front Door Regulator





1. Disconnect the connector (A) from the regulator (B).

2. Remove the nuts (C).

3. Remove the bolts (D), and loosen the bolts (E), then remove the regulator through the hole in the door.

7. Front Power Window Motor





1. Remove the power window motor (A).

Installation

1. Front Power Window Motor





NOTE: Screw threads are not tapped into the new power window motor. Install the new motor as follows, using the self-tapping screws (A) provided.

1. Position the power window motor (B) under the regulator (C) as shown, and tighten the self-tapping screws until the screw heads just make contact with the linkage.

NOTE:
* Keep the screws perfectly straight while screwing them in.
* Do not use an air tool or impact wrench to install the screws.
* Use only the self-tapping bolts provided with the motor.

2. Loosen the screws, then retighten them to the specified torque.

2. Front Door Regulator





1. Apply multipurpose grease to the sliding surfaces of the regulator (A) where shown.





2. Install the regulator (A) through the hole in the door, then install the nuts (B) and the bolts (C, D).

3. Connect the connector (E) to the regulator.

3. Front Door Glass Support





1. While holding the glass (A), remove the tape (B), then carefully lower the glass. Take care not to drop the glass inside the door.





2. Install the glass mounting bolts (A).

1. Do the front door glass adjustment. Adjustments

5. Front Door Plastic Cover





1. Install the plastic cover (A), then install the plug caps (B).

2. Install the pull pocket bracket (C), then install the screws (D).

3. Connect the connector (E), then install the harness clips (F).

6. Front Door Panel





1. Install the inner handle (A) in the door panel (B).

2. Install the door panel. Make sure the clips (C) snap into place securely.





3. Install the screw (A), then install the pull pocket mat (B).





4. Install the screws (A) securing the inner handle (B).





5. Install the inner handle cap (A). Make sure the upper hook (B) and the lower hooks (C) snap into place securely.

7. Front Door Power Window Switch Panel





1. Connect the connectors (A), then install the power window switch panel (B). Make sure the clips (C) and the hooks (D) snap into place securely.

8. Door Mirror Cover





1. With tweeter: Connect the connector (A).

2. Install the door mirror cover (B). Make sure the clips (C) snap into place securely.

9. Power Window Control Unit - Reset

1. Do the power window control unit resetting procedure. Testing and Inspection
