Scuff Plate: Service and Repair




Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Door Areas

Special Tools Required

- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

Front Door Sill Area

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim or the panel.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.

1. Remove the front door sill trim (A).

1. Release the hooks (B) from the kick panel (C) and the B-pillar lower trim (D).

2. Pull up the trim by hand to detach the clips.





2. Remove the kick panel (A).

1. Pull out the front door opening seal (B) as needed.

2. Pull out the kick panel by hand to detach the clips.

Driver's side





Passenger's side





3. Pull out the front door opening seal (A) from the trim hook (B) around the front door opening flange, then remove it.






4. Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.

Sliding Door Opening

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim or the panel.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.

1. Remove the sliding door sill trim (A).

1. Release the hooks (B) from the B-pillar lower trim (C) and the rear side trim panel (D).

2. Pull up the trim by hand to detach the clips (E, F).





2. Remove the CESS articulated harness and the lower roller subbase Sliding Door Removal/Installation.

3. Pull out the sliding door weatherstrip (A) from the trim hooks (B) around the sliding door opening flange, then remove it.






4. Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
- When installing the sliding door weatherstrip (A), clean the body flange surface with a sponge dampened with isopropyl alcohol, then apply the clear sealant (B) on the areas (C) as shown.
