Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area

Special Tools Required

- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim or the panel.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.

1. Remove these items:

- Sliding door sill trim
- Sliding door weatherstrip, as needed
- Tailgate weatherstrip, as needed Service and Repair

2. Remove the rear trim panel (A).

1. Remove the bolts (B), and detach the clips (C).

2. Pull out both side edges of the panel by hand to release the hooks (D) from the rear side trim panel (E).

3. Pull back the panel to detach the clips (F).





3. Remove the rear side trim panel (A).

1. Remove the bolt.

2. Pull out the front upper edge of the panel by hand to release the hooks (B) from the C-pillar trim (C).

3. Pull out the rear upper edge of the panel by hand to release the hooks (D) from the D-pillar trim (E).

4. Pull back the panel by hand to detach the clips.

5. Left side: Disconnect the cargo area accessory power socket connector (F), the RES auxiliary jack assembly connector (G) (for some models), and the power outlet connector (H) (for some models).

6. Right side: Disconnect the HDMI harness connector (I) (for some models).

7. Right side: If necessary, release the hooks (J) (eight places), then remove the right center cover (K).

NOTE: If you are only removing the rear side trim panel, go to step 8. If you are doing further disassembly of the rear side trim panel, continue to step 4.

Sunshade Replacement

4. Remove the rear side trim panel sunshade (A) and the sunshade flange (B) as an assembly.

1. Remove the screws.

2. Release the sunshade and the flange as an assembly from the hooks (C) of the rear side trim panel (D).





5. Remove the screws, and separate the rear side trim panel sunshade (A) and the sunshade flange (B).






Cup Holder and Armrest Replacement

6. Remove the cup holder (A) and the armrest (B) as an assembly.

1. Remove the screws.

2. While pulling out the edge of the cup holder and armrest, detach the clips and release the hooks (C).





7. Remove the screws, then separate the cup holder (A) and the armrest (B).






8. Install the rear side trim panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt, and that it is not pinched by the rear side trim panel.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
