Headlight Initial Position Learning Procedure

Do the headlight initial position learning when any of the headlight leveling system related parts shown are replaced:

- Headlight
- HID unit
- Headlight leveling motor
- Headlight leveling control unit
- Suspension stroke sensor

NOTE: The headlight initial position learning is also required when the suspension stroke sensor is reattached or the suspension stroke sensor arm is reconnected to the lower arm.

Learning Procedure

Before doing the learning procedure:

- Park the vehicle on a level surface, and remove all of the baggage from the vehicle.
- Make sure the tire pressures are correct.

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

2. Slide the front seats backward fully.

3. Have someone who weighs about the same as the driver sit in the driver's seat.

4. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC).

5. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.

6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

7. Within 5 seconds, turn the headlights on (low beam) or turn the passing switch ON and OFF three times repeatedly, and leave them on.

- If the headlights tilt down, then return to the original position, the initial position learning is complete.
- If the headlights aiming do not move, go to step 1, and repeat the procedure.





8. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

9. Disconnect the HDS from the data link connector (DLC).

10. Do the Headlight Adjustment Adjustments.
