SRS Unit Replacement

Removal

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Move the driver's and front passenger's seats all way to the rear position.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

4. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

5. Remove the driver's and passenger's heater panel.

6. With cool box: Pull out the cool box outlet hose (A).





7. Detach the clip (B) from the left heater duct (C), then remove the heater duct.

8. Disconnect SRS unit connectors A (39P) and B (39P) from the SRS unit (C).

NOTE: The SRS unit connectors have lever locks. Release the locks before disconnecting the connectors.






9. Remove the TORX bolt (D) from left side, using a TORX T30 bit.

10. Remove the TORX bolts (A) from right side, using a TORX T30 bit.





11. Remove the SRS unit (B) from the left side.

Installation

1. Install the SRS unit (A) with the new TORX bolts (B) using a TORX T30 bit.






2. Install the new TORX bolt (C) using a TORX T30 bit.





3. Connect SRS connectors A (39P) and B (39P) to the SRS unit (D); push them into position until they click and the lever locks are fully secured.

4. Tighten the three installed TORX bolts to the specified torque.

5. Install left heater duct (A), and push the clip (B) to the heater duct.





6. With cool box: Install the cool box outlet hose (C).

7. Install the driver's and passenger's heater panel.

8. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

9. Make sure the SRS unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the SRS unit Testing and Inspection.

10. Do the ODS unit initialization Programming and Relearning.

11. Check the operation of the ODS unit with the HDS Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

12. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
