Rear Bumper: Service and Repair



Rear Bumper Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the tow eye/D-rings. Refer to Rear Tow Eye Replacement (SUV) (Rear Tow Eye Replacement (SUV)) in Frame and Underbody.
2. Unplug the trailer hitch electrical connector.
3. Support the bumper.
4. Remove the center bolts from the bumper bar.
5. Remove the bumper from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the bumper to the vehicle.
2. Support the bumper.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the center bolts to the bumper bar.

Tighten the bolts to 32 Nm (24 lb ft).

4. Plug in the trailer hitch electrical connector.
5. Install the tow eye/D-rings. Refer to Rear Tow Eye Replacement (SUV) (Rear Tow Eye Replacement (SUV)) in Frame and Underbody.
