Hood Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Hood Hold-Open Device Warning (Service Precautions).

1. Open the hood.




2. Disconnect the underhood lighting electrical connectors and remove the wiring harness (1) from the hood.




3. With the hood properly supported, remove the hood support cables by removing the hood support cable pins (1).
4. Remove the hood hinges. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. With the aid of assistants, remove the hood from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Note: If replacing the hood, transfer all necessary items from the hood being replaced to the new hood.

1. With the aid of assistants, position the hood in place, and install the hood hinge bolts. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement (Service and Repair).




2. With the hood still supported by an assistant, install the hood support cable pins (1).




3. Install the underhood lighting wiring harness (1) and connect all underhood lighting electrical connectors.
4. Close the hood.
