High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement (SUT)

Removal Procedure




1. Carefully lower the rear headliner in order to access the electrical connector.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL).
3. Remove the 2 screws securing the CHMSL to the exterior rear header garnish molding.
4. Disconnect the electrical harness grommet from the rear header.
5. Remove the CHMSL and attached electrical harness.
6. Remove the foam gasket and discard if damaged.

Installation Procedure




1. Install a new foam gasket.
2. Install the lamp, with the attached harness, to the rear header.
3. Secure the electrical harness grommet to the rear header.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the retaining screws.

Tighten the screws to 3 Nm (26 lb in).

5. Connect the electrical connector for the CHMSL to the headliner harness.
6. Re-secure the rear of the headliner.
