Outer Rear View Mirror

MIRROR: OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR: INSPECTION

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Seat Position Memory System)

(a) Inspect outer mirror operation.
(1) Disconnect the mirror connector.
(2) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror face.
Standard:

(b) Inspect outer mirror heater operation.
(1) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror heater.
HINT: While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly

OK:

2. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Seat Position Memory System)

(a) Inspect outer mirror operation.
(1) Disconnect the mirror connector.
(2) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror face.

If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly

OK:

(c) Inspect operation of the mirror position sensor.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the ohmmeter to terminal 9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 15, and measure the resistance.
Standard resistance:
700 to 1,300Ohms
(2) Check that the resistance between terminals 9 and 10 changes when slowly turning the mirror face right and left.
(3) Check that the resistance between terminals 9 and 16 changes when slowly turning the mirror face right and left.
3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Seat Position Memory System)
(a) Inspect outer mirror operation.

(1) Disconnect the H8 mirror connector.
(2) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror face.
Standard:
