DESCRIPTION

The door courtesy light comes on when the door is opened and goes off when the door is closed.
The Multiplex Network Body ECU detects the condition of the door courtesy switch and controls the courtesy lights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Start the inspection from step 1 in the case of using the intelligent tester, and start from step 2 in the case of not using the intelligent tester.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH)
(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

OK:
Switch condition (ON/OFF) can be switched by actual operation.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY
(a) Inspect door courtesy light assembly continuity
(1) Check continuity between terminals.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Inspect door courtesy switch continuity.
(1) Check continuity between terminal 1 and the switch body while operating the switch.
Standard resistance:
ON (when shaft is pressed)
10 kOhms or higher
OFF (when shaft is not pressed):
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Inspect the harness and the connectors related to each light or switch by referring to the wiring diagram.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
