DTC C2191/91 - Vehicle Speed Signal Error (Test Mode DTC)

DESCRIPTION

The tire pressure warning ECU receives a speed signal from the combination meter. This DTC is stored upon entering the test mode, and cleared when a vehicle speed signal of 12 mph (20 km/h) is detected for 3 seconds or more. This DTC is output only in the test mode.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
- When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver, read the IDs stored in the ECU using the Techstream and write them down before removal.
- It is necessary to perform initialization Initialization after registration Registration of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver after the ECU or a valve and transmitter has been replaced.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC
(a) Check for DTCs of the MPX communication and the speed sensor.

B -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS
A -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS
C -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE ON TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and turn the Techstream on.
(c) Check the values by referring to the table below. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.

(d) Check whether the vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream changes depending on the actual vehicle speed.
OK:
The vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream changes depending on the actual vehicle speed.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER
