Removal








PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE PEDAL: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal
3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal
4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER Removal
5. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal
6. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER FRONT LH Removal
7. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER FRONT LH Removal
8. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER LH Removal
9. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER RH Removal
10. REMOVE FRONT LH SEAT ASSEMBLY Removal
11. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST
(a) Remove the front floor footrest from the floor.
12. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, and separate the parking brake cable assembly No.1 from the floor.





(b) Remove the parking brake cable assembly No.1 from the parking brake equalizer.
(c) Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
(d) Remove the 3 nuts and separate the instrument panel junction block assembly with bracket from the body.





(e) Remove the 3 nuts and parking brake pedal assembly.
13. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.1





(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the parking brake cable assembly No.1.





(b) Remove the clip from the parking brake pedal assembly.
(c) Remove the lock nut and parking brake wire adjusting nut No.1.
