INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL
1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)
NOTICE:
After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX
(a) Remove the 3 clips and the rear deck floor box.
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
(a) Disengage the 7 claws, 4 clips and guide, and remove the front door scuff plate LH.
HINT
A part of the clip remains on the vehicle side.
(b) w/ Illumination:
(1) Disconnect the connector.
5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the clip.
(b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim sub-assembly LH.
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
(a) Using moulding remover A, disengage the claw and 2 clips.
(b) Disengage the guide and remove the instrument side panel LH.
7. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
(a) Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the garnish from the base of the 2 clips.
HINT
Make the front pillar garnish LH hang down from the front pillar garnish clip.
(b) Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nosed pliers and remove it from the front pillar garnish LH.
NOTICE:
* Front pillar garnish clips are reusable if they are not removed from the vehicle and have no damage.
* Replace the front pillar garnish clips with new ones if they are removed from the vehicle.
HINT
Tape the tips of the needle-nosed pliers before use.
(c) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
(d) Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

(1) Cover the airbag with a cloth or piece of nylon and secure the ends of the cover with tape, as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.
8. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
(a) Disengage the 6 claws, 3 clips and guide, and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.
9. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
(a) Disengage the 2 claws and 5 clips, and remove the lower center pillar garnish LH.
10. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH Removal
11. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
(a) Remove the 2 screws.
(b) Using a clip remover, disengage the clip.
(c) Pass the floor anchor of the front seat outer seat belt assembly LH through the center pillar garnish LH and remove the center pillar garnish LH.
12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
13. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

15. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

20. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the 3 fasteners as shown in the illustration.
(b) for Compact Spare Tire:
(1) Remove the 2 bolts and remove the deck board sub-assembly.
(c) for Full Size Spare Tire:
(1) Remove the 2 bolts and remove the deck board sub-assembly.
21. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY (for Compact Spare Tire)
(a) Remove the spare wheel cover assembly.
22. REMOVE NO. 4 REAR FLOOR BOARD (for Compact Spare Tire)
(a) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the No. 4 rear floor board.
23. REMOVE NO. 4 REAR FLOOR BOARD (for Full Size Spare Tire)
(a) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the No. 4 rear floor board.
24. REMOVE NO. 3 REAR FLOOR BOARD (for Compact Spare Tire)
(a) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the No. 3 rear floor board.
25. REMOVE NO. 3 REAR FLOOR BOARD (for Full Size Spare Tire)
(a) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the No. 3 rear floor board.
26. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the tonneau cover assembly.
27. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH (for Compact Spare Tire)
(a) Remove the 2 clips and the deck side trim box LH.
28. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH (for Full Size Spare Tire)
(a) Remove the 3 clips and the deck side trim box LH.
29. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH (for Compact Spare Tire)
(a) Remove the 2 clips and deck side trim box RH.
30. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH (for Full Size Spare Tire)
(a) Remove the 3 clips and the deck side trim box RH.
31. REMOVE FRONT DECK FLOOR BOX
(a) Remove the clip and the front deck floor box.
32. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
(a) Disengage the 2 claws, 6 clips and 2 guides, and remove the rear floor finish plate.
33. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH
(a) Remove the clip.
(b) Disengage the claw and 2 clips.
(c) Disengage the guide and remove the rear floor finish side plate LH.
34. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the rear seat assembly LH Removal.
35. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE COVER LH
(a) Remove the 2 clips.
(b) Disengage the 2 claws and 3 clips, and remove the rear seat side cover LH.
HINT
A part of the clip remains on the vehicle side.
36. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK (for LH Side)
(a) Remove the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook as shown in the illustration.
37. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and the 2 rope hook assemblies.
38. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL BEZEL LH
(a) Using moulding remover A, disengage the 2 bottom claws of the reclining remote control bezel LH.
(b) Lift the reclining remote control bezel LH as shown by the arrow (1) in the illustration.
(c) Turn the reclining remote control bezel LH as shown by the arrow (2) in the illustration, then disengage the 2 upper claws and remove the bezel.
39. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the 2 screws.
(b) Remove the 4 clips.
(c) Disengage the 5 claws and 2 clips.
(d) Disconnect each connector and remove the deck trim side panel assembly LH.
40. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH Removal
41. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Disengage the claw and 8 clips.
HINT
A part of the clip remains on the vehicle side.
(b) Pass the floor anchor of the rear seat outer seat belt assembly LH through the roof side inner garnish assembly LH and remove the roof side inner garnish assembly LH.
42. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE RH

Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
43. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Remove the rear seat assembly RH Removal.
44. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE COVER RH
HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
45. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK (for RH Side)
(a) Remove the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook as shown in the illustration.
46. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

47. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL BEZEL RH

48. REMOVE HEIGHT CONTROL SWITCH (w/ Air Suspension) Removal

(a) Remove the 2 screws.
(b) Remove the 4 clips.
(c) Disengage the 5 claws and 2 clips.
(d) Disconnect the connector and remove the deck trim side panel assembly RH.
50. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

51. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH

52. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal

56. REMOVE RAIN SENSOR COVER (w/ Rain Sensor) Removal
57. REMOVE COAT HOOK
(a) Remove the screw and coat hook.

Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
58. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.

NOTICE:
Do not forcibly pry the assist grip covers to prevent them from being deformed.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip sub-assembly.
HINT
Use the same procedure for the other 3 assist grips.
59. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER (for LH Side)
(a) Using moulding remover C, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.
60. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the 2 screws and remove the visor assembly LH.
61. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER (for RH Side)

Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
62. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH
HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
63. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER (for LH Side)
(a) Turn the visor holder approximately 45° and pull it out as shown in the illustration.
(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the visor holder.
64. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER (for RH Side)

Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
65. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof)
(a) Disconnect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly connectors and washer hose, and disengage the 2 claws and 3 clamps from the rear pillar RH.
(b) w/ Rain Sensor:
(1) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connector from the rain sensor.
(c) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connector from the inner rear view mirror.
(d) w/o Manual (SOS) Switch:
(1) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connectors and disengage the 2 claws from the front pillar LH.
(e) w/ Manual (SOS) Switch:
(1) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connectors and No. 5 antenna cord sub-assembly connector, disengage the 2 claws from the front pillar LH.
(2) Disconnect the No. 5 antenna cord subassembly connector, disengage the 2 claws and clamp from the rear pillar LH.
(f) Disconnect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly connector and washer hose, and disengage the 2 claws from the front pillar RH.
(g) Disengage the 12 claws and 3 clips.

(h) Disengage the 2 fasteners.
(i) Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the back door.
NOTICE:
Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or body interior.
66. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof)
(a) Disconnect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly connectors and washer hose, and disengage the 2 claws and 3 clamps from the rear pillar RH.
(b) w/ Rain Sensor:
(1) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connector from the rain sensor.
(c) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connector from the inner rear view mirror.
(d) w/o Manual (SOS) Switch:
(1) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connectors and disengage the 2 claws from the front pillar LH.
(e) w/ Manual (SOS) Switch:
(1) Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connectors and No. 5 antenna cord sub-assembly connector, disengage the 2 claws from the front pillar LH.
(2) Disconnect the No. 5 antenna cord subassembly connector, disengage the 2 claws and clamp from the rear pillar LH.
(f) Disconnect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly connector and washer hose, and disengage the 2 claws from the front pillar RH.
(g) Disengage the 12 claws and 3 clips.

(h) Disengage the 8 fasteners.
(i) Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the back door.
