Disassembly





BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER: DISASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE BRAKE STROKE SIMULATOR TUBE

(a) Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 2 union nuts to remove the brake stroke simulator tube.





2. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake master cylinder bracket.





(b) Remove the brake master cylinder gasket from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.

3. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER BRACKET

(a) Remove the brake master cylinder bracket from the brake stroke simulator cylinder with bracket.

(b) Remove the brake master cylinder gasket from the brake master cylinder bracket.

4. REMOVE BRAKE STROKE SIMULATOR CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the clamp to separate the connector.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts and brake stroke simulator cylinder sub-assembly from the brake stroke simulator bracket.

5. REMOVE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Loosen the lock nut, and remove the master cylinder push rod clevis and lock nut.





HINT
If the protrusion of the push rod in relation to the push rod clevis is measured beforehand, it is easier to perform the brake pedal height adjustment after the brake master cylinder sub-assembly is installed.

6. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER UNION

(a) Remove the screw and brake master cylinder union.





7. REMOVE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR GROMMET

(a) Remove the 2 master cylinder reservoir grommets from the brake master cylinder union.
