DESCRIPTION
When the driving support ECU receives a hybrid control system or SFI system malfunction signal from the power management control ECU or ECM via the CAN communication line, DTC C1A40 is stored.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ OUTPUT DTC (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(e) Read the DTCs.
Result:
B -- GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM Hybrid Control System
A -- Continue to next step.
2. READ OUTPUT DTC (SFI SYSTEM)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
(e) Read the DTCs.
Result:
B -- GO TO SFI SYSTEM SFI System
A -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC C1A40)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(d) Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.
HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.
(1) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) or more.
(2) Turn the cruise control main switch on.
(3) Push the -SET switch to activate the cruise control.
(e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Trouble Codes.
(f) Read the DTCs.

4. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU
(a) Replace the power management control ECU Removal.

5. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC C1A40)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(d) Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.
