1. Disconnect battery ground cable and disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Recover refrigerant as described under HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING.
3. Disconnect suction tube from cooling unit outlet fitting, Fig. 35. Cap open fittings immediately.
4. Disconnect liquid tube from cooling unit inlet fitting.
5. Remove grommets from inlet and outlet fittings.
6. Remove glove box and disconnect connectors.
7. Remove cooling unit attaching nuts and bolts, then the cooling unit, Fig. 36.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Evacuate and recharge air conditioning system.
b. Torque suction tube to cooling unit outlet fitting to 10 ft.lbs.
c. If evaporator was replaced, add 1.4-1.7 fl. oz. of oil to compressor.
