DTC B2655 - Cushion Length Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

When the front power seat switch LH (driver seat ECU) does not receive a sensor signal despite forward or backward movement of the seat by power seat motor operation, this DTC is output.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (POWER SEAT MOTOR FUNCTION)
(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester or Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the power seat motor function.

OK:
Motor operates normally
NG -- CHECK FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POWER SEAT MOTOR)
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - FRONT POWER SEAT CUSHION POSITION SENSOR LH)





(a) Disconnect the e46 switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the e41 sensor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)





(a) Disconnect the e41 sensor connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)





(a) Reconnect the e41 sensor connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Recheck for the DTC Front Power Seat Control System.
OK:
DTC B2655 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
6. CHECK FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POWER SEAT MOTOR)





(a) Check operation of the seat frame (cushion motor).
(1) Check if the seat adjuster moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the cushion motor connector terminals.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - POWER SEAT MOTOR)





(a) Disconnect the e45 and e46 switch connectors.
(b) Disconnect the e40 motor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH
