How To Proceed With Troubleshooting





ENGINE IMMOBILIZER: ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

* Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobilizer system.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

Standard voltage:

11 to 14 V

* If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

3. START HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM

4. INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)*

(a) Using the Techstream, check if the Multiplex Communication System (MPX) is functioning normally Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

5. CHECK FOR DTC*

(a) Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Delete the DTC.

(c) Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the same hybrid control system DTC or engine immobilizer system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
