Removal





ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: FRONT DOOR: REMOVAL

HINT
* Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedures listed below are the LH side.

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Removal

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:





* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the bezel plug.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips.





(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the power window regulator master switch.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 3 screws.





(b) Detach the 13 clips and remove the trim cover.

(c) Disconnect the connector.

(d) Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.





6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Detach the claw, disconnect the connector and then remove the light.





7. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Detach the claw and remove the lens from the courtesy light.





(b) Disconnect the connector.

8. REMOVE HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE ANCHOR SWITCH

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Detach the 2 claws and remove the height adjustable anchor switch.

9. REMOVE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Detach the 4 claws and remove the seat memory switch.

10. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the screw and indicator light assembly.

11. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT BRACKET

(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the indicator light bracket.

12. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT COVER

(a) Remove the indicator light cover.

13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM COVER LH

(a) Remove the screw.





(b) Using a clip remover, detach the 5 clips.

14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING END COVER REAR LH

(a) Remove the 2clips and front door belt moulding end cover.





15. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 clips and garnish.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

16. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Remove the 4 screws and front No. 1 speaker assembly.

17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR ECU LH

(a) Remove the 2 screws and ECU.





(b) Disconnect the 3 connectors.

18. REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

(a) Remove the service hole cover.

HINT
Remove the remaining tape on the door.

19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

(a) Remove the service hole cover.

HINT
Remove the remaining tape on the door.

20. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH Removal

21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP INNER LH

(a) Remove the weatherstrip inner by pulling it upward in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.





22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Driver's side:

Temporarily install the multiplex network master switch.

(b) Passenger's side:

Temporarily install the multiplex network switch.

(c) Remove the hole plug.

(d) Move the door glass until the bolts appear in the service holes.





(e) Remove the 2 bolts.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the glass may fall and become damaged.

(f) Remove the door glass in the direction indicated by the arrows in the illustration.





HINT
Remove the glass upward.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the glass.

(g) Driver's side:

Remove the multiplex network master switch.

(h) Passenger's side:

Remove the multiplex network switch.

23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH

(a) Remove the front door glass run.

24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 2 WEATHER STRIP

25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH

26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.

(b) Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill, as shown in the illustration.

(c) Lightly press the drill against the rivet shown in the illustration, and drill off the rivet's flange.





CAUTION:
Be careful of the drilled rivet as it may become hot.

NOTICE:
* Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
* Do not pry the rivet with the drill, because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivet or the drill bit.

(d) Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled area.

(e) Remove the 2 screws.





(f) Loosen the 5 belt line screws indicated by the arrows in the illustration.





(g) Remove the 4 screws and belt moulding.

27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Remove the 6 bolts and window regulator.

HINT
Remove the window regulator through the service hole.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the window regulator may fall and become damaged.

28. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH FRONT

(a) Using a T25 "TORX" driver, remove the 3 screws and motor.





NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the screws as the motor may fall and become damaged.

29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY FRONT LOWER LH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and frame.





HINT
Remove the frame through the service hole.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the frame may fall and become damaged.

30. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY REAR LOWER LH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and frame rear lower.





31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH

(a) Remove the hole plug.





(b) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw and remove the cover with the door lock key cylinder installed.

(c) Remove the cylinder from the cover.

32. REMOVE FRONT DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE LH

(a) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw.

(b) Disconnect the connector.





(c) Remove the handle by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.





NOTICE:
If the release plate is not pulled and held when removing the handle, the release plate will interfere with the handle and become damaged.

(d) Remove the outside handle pad front and rear.

33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD FRONT

(a) Detach the 3 claws and remove the pad.





34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD REAR

(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the pad.





35. REMOVE NO. 2 SEPARATION DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and cushion.

36. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) w/o Door Closer:

(1) Disconnect the door lock connector.





(2) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 3 screws and door lock.

HINT
Remove the door lock through the service hole.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the door lock may fall and become damaged.

(b) w/ Door Closer:

(1) Disconnect the door lock connector.





(2) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 2 screws labeled B and 3 screws labeled A.

HINT
Remove the door lock through the service hole.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the door lock may fall and become damaged.

37. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the claw.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly.





38. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCKING LH CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Remove the front door inside locking cable assembly.





39. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the connectors.





(b) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw.

(c) Detach the 2 clips. Slide the outside handle frame and door No. 2 wire to remove it.

HINT
Remove the outside handle frame through the service hole.

(d) Remove the lock open rod from the outside handle frame.

40. REMOVE NO. 2 BACK DOOR WIRE

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Remove the wire harness from the frame.

41. REMOVE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (for Front Door)

(a) Remove the screw and door electrical key oscillator.





42. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME GARNISH PAD LH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and frame garnish pad.





43. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Remove the cover.

(b) Remove the bolt and 2 nuts and door check.

HINT
Remove the door check through the service hole.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the door check may fall and become damaged.

44. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH

(a) Using a clip remover, detach the clips and remove the weatherstrip.





HINT
If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.

45. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WIRE LH

(a) Disconnect the connector.





46. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and front door panel.

47. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 3 WEATHERSTRIP LH

(a) Remove the 3 clips and weatherstrip from the door.
