Room Oscillator Does Not Recognize Key

DOOR LOCK: SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START: Room Oscillator does not Recognize Key
- Room Oscillator does not Recognize Key

DESCRIPTION

If the room oscillator does not recognize key, either of the following may be the cause: 1) communication between the indoor electrical key oscillator (for front) and electrical key transmitter cannot be performed; or 2) communication between the indoor electrical key oscillator (for rear) and electrical key transmitter cannot be performed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION

(a) When the master switch assembly's door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

NG -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

B -- PERFORM CANCELLATION OF ENTRY KEY CANCEL FUNCTION
A -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START

(a) Remove the battery of the electrical key transmitter Service and Repair.

(b) Touch the LEXUS mark of the key or card key to the engine switch.

(c) Check that the engine switch can be turned on (IG).

B -- GO TO SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START
A -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT

(a) Install the battery to the electrical key transmitter Service and Repair.

(b) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key oscillator (in center console), and perform an engine start check.

NOTICE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.) of the center console, communication is not possible.

(c) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key oscillator (in rear seat cushion), and perform an engine start check.

NOTICE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.) of the rear seat cushion, communication is not possible.

HINT
* When the electrical key transmitter is brought near the indoor electrical key oscillator, the possibility of wave interference decreases, and it can be determined if wave interference is causing the problem symptom.
* If the inspection result is that the operation check is normal, the possibility of wave interference is high. Also, added vehicle components may cause wave interference. If installed, remove them and perform the operation check.

B -- AFFECTED BY WAVE INTERFERENCE
A -- Continue to next step.

5. KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE

(a) Diagnostic mode inspection (front inside oscillator)

(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(3) Turn the the Techstream on.

(4) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Front Room.

(5) When the electrical key transmitter is placed on the driver seat or front passenger seat cushion, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

(b) Diagnostic mode inspection (rear inside oscillator)

(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(3) Turn the the Techstream on.

(4) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Rear Room.

(5) When the electrical key transmitter is placed on the rear seat cushion, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

HINT
If the buzzer sounds, it can be determined that the vehicle interior transmitters are operating normally.

A -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
B -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - CERTIFICATION ECU)

(a) Disconnect the L74 and S10 oscillator connectors.

(b) Disconnect the L15 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)

(a) Replace the indoor electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the entry function operates normally.

OK:

Operates normally

NG -- REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY TRANSMITTER

OK -- END (INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE)

8. REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY TRANSMITTER

(a) Replace the electrical key transmitter with a new one and perform the registration procedure Engine Immobilizer System.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK OPERATION

(a) Check the operation of the entry lock function.

OK:

Operates normally

NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU

OK -- END (KEY IS DEFECTIVE)

10. GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Power Door Lock Control System

11. PERFORM CANCELLATION OF ENTRY KEY CANCEL FUNCTION Smart Access System With Push-Button Start

12. GO TO SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START Service Precautions

13. AFFECTED BY WAVE INTERFERENCE

14. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU

15. REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

16. END (INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE)

17. END (KEY IS DEFECTIVE)

18. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
