DESCRIPTION

When the AFS switch is pushed (ON), the AFS ECU will cancel the intelligent AFS control and turns on the AFS OFF indicator light.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn Techstream on.

(d) Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / AFS / Data List.

(e) Read the display on Techstream.

OK:

Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT AFS OFF SWITCH

NG -- REPLACE AFS OFF SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS OFF SWITCH - AFS ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the A22 AFS ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the E5 AFS OFF switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE AFS ECU
