Motor Initialization

NOTE: If initializing a shade motor on a vehicle equipped with a roof opening panel, refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization in Sunroof / Moonroof.

NOTE: A new power sunshade motor will only move toward the CLOSED position and must be initialized.

1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.

2. Pull the sunshade switch until the sunshade moves to the CLOSED position.
- For an existing sunshade motor, go to Step 3.

- For a new sunshade motor, skip to Step 4.

3. NOTE: The driver or passenger front door must be open during this step.

Complete the following within 5 seconds.

- Cycle the ignition to the OFF position and then back to the RUN position.

- Pull the sunshade switch for one second and release.

4. Pull and hold the sunshade switch until movement is heard.

5. Release the sunshade switch and verify successful initialization by carrying out one-touch open/close operations.
