Pinpoint Test K: An Individual Button/Feature Is Inoperative From The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter

Normal Operation

The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter in the Intelligent Access (IA) key sends a radio signal to the Remote Functions Receiver (RFR) module based on the user selected RKE transmitter button. The RFR module then communicates the command to the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module, and the RFA module carries out the selected action.

Upon a request to lock/unlock the doors the RFA module controls the door lock actuators. Upon a request to open/close the power liftgate, the RFA module sends a voltage signal to the Liftgate/Trunk Module (LTM). Upon a panic alarm request, the RFA module sends a message to the Smart Junction Box (SJB) over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) to activate the turn signals and horn.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Door locks
- Horn system
- Power liftgate system
- Turn signal system
- IA key

PINPOINT TEST K: AN INDIVIDUAL BUTTON/FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE FROM THE RKE TRANSMITTER
