Roof Opening Panel Shade Assembly

Removal and Installation

Front and rear shade assembly

1. Move the glass to the fully CLOSED position.

2. Remove the headliner. For additional information, refer to Interior Trim and Ornamentation Service and Repair.

Front shade assembly

3. Remove the 2 front sunshade carrier outer screws.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).





4. Remove the 2 front sunshade carrier center screws and the front sunshade assembly.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).





5. NOTE: The shade is under spring tension.

Depress the tabs and slide the guide bar (leading edge of shade) forward to release it from the mechanism guide shoes and allow the shade to retract completely.





Rear shade assembly

6. Remove the 2 rear sunshade carrier-to-housing screws and the rear sunshade assembly.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).





7. Slide the rear shade to gain access to the tabs.

8. NOTE: Front guide shown, rear similar.

NOTE: The shade is under spring tension.

Depress the tabs and slide the guide bar (leading edge of shade) forward to release it from the mechanism guide shoes and allow the shade to retract completely.

9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Initialize the roof opening panel motor(s). For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization Programming and Relearning.
