Harness Retainers
Removal and Installation
1. Remove the engine appearance cover. For addition information, refer to Engine Appearance Cover - Exploded View in Engine.
2. Remove the battery tray. For additional information, refer to Battery Tray Battery Tray.
3. Remove the engine Air Cleaner (ACL).
4. Remove the nut and position the battery cable ground terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
5. Remove the nut and position the high current Battery Junction Box (BJB) terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
6. Remove the nut and position Body Control Module (BCM) B+ terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
7. Disconnect the battery and generator current sensors.
8. Remove the bolt and position the engine ground terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
9. Remove the starter solenoid terminal cover.
10. Remove the nut and position the battery cable starter solenoid terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
11. Remove the nut and position the battery cable starter motor terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
12. Disconnect the battery cable harness retainers from the engine, transaxle support insulator bracket and the selector lever cable bracket.
13. Disconnect the battery cable in-line and transaxle solenoid body electrical connectors.
14. Disconnect the wire harness retainer at the transaxle cover and the 3 retainers from the engine ACL (Air Cleaner) mounting bracket.
15. Disconnect the PCM electrical connector and the 2 wire harness retainers.
16. Position the generator B+ terminal protective cover aside, remove the nut and position the generator B+ terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 17 Nm (150 lb-in).
17. Disconnect the generator electrical connector and the wire harness retainer.
18. Remove the 2 push-pins and position the RH front fender splash shield aside.
19. Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
20. Disconnect the 2 wire harness retainers from the front of the LH valve cover.
21. Disconnect the degas bottle hose from the 2 retaining clips at the intake manifold and position aside.
22. Disconnect the 2 wire harness retainers from the intake manifold and from the rear side of the LH valve cover.
23. Remove the battery cable.
24. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
