XB140 - Check Power to Pump/FPM Circuit For Short to Ground

- Key "OFF".

- Inertia Fuel Shutoff (IFS) switch disconnected.

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.

- Disconnect Variable Control Relay Module (VCRM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Measure resistance between test pin 8 and test pin 40 at the breakout box.

- Is resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?

Yes -- Go to XB141. XB141 - Check VCRM

No -- Service power-to-pump / Fuel Pump Monitor (FPM) circuit for short to ground. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Start engine, wait 5 seconds. Key "OFF". Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
