Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Rear Audio and Temperature Control (RATC) Module

Rear Audio and Temperature Control (RATC) Module

Removal and Installation

NOTE: Prior to removal of the module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration to a scan tool. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed. For additional information, refer to Information Bus.

1. NOTE: A new Rear Audio and Temperature Control (RATC) module is delivered in a manufacturing mode with pre-set DTC B2477 (Module Configuration Failure). This DTC clears when the module has been successfully configured during Programmable Module Installation (PMI).

NOTE: This step is necessary only if a new RATC module is being installed.

Upload the module configuration information from the RATC module. For additional information, refer to Information Bus.

2. Remove the rear seat backrest. For additional information, refer to Seats.

3. Drill out the 2 rivets, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the RATC module.

4. NOTE: Once the new module is installed (if it was replaced), it is necessary to download the module configuration information from the scan tool into the new module. For additional information, refer to Information Bus.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Using the Heavy Duty Riveter, install the new rivets.
