Removal and Installation

Upper and lower trim panels

1. Position the front and rear door weatherstrip seals aside.

2. Remove the front and rear door scuff plates. For additional information, refer to Scuff Plate Trim Panel Service and Repair.

3. Remove the lower B-pillar trim panel.
- Pull outward on the trim panel to release the 6 clips.






Upper trim panel

4. Remove the safety belt anchor bolt trim cover.





5. Remove the safety belt anchor bolt.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).






6. Disconnect the Belt Tension Sensor (BTS) electrical connector.





7. Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel retainer screw.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).






8. Feed the safety belt through the upper B-pillar trim panel and remove the panel.

9. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the B-pillar trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the B-pillar trim panel before installing.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
