PINPOINT TEST 3: THE 4X4 CONTROL MODULE DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE SCAN TOOL - HYBRID

Normal Operation

The 4X4 control module communicates with the scan tool through the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN). Circuits (W/L) (HS-CAN +) and (W) (HS-CAN -) provide the network connection to the 4X4 control module. The 4X4 control module shares the HS-CAN network with the PCM, the ABS module, the instrument cluster, the restraints control module (RCM), the power steering control module and the occupant classification sensor module. Voltage for the 4X4 control module is provided by circuits (Y/GY) and (L/R). Ground is provided by circuit (B/GY).

- Fuse
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- 4X4 control module

Diagnostic Procedure

CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
