Throttle Body: Service and Repair

THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - HYBRID










CAUTION: The throttle body must be removed from the vehicle to be cleaned. Do not hold the throttle plate open with any object that could scratch the bore or plate while servicing or cleaning the throttle body.

NOTE: The electronic throttle body is serviced as a complete assembly. Individual components cannot be serviced.

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. See - Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe Removal/Installation.

2. Disconnect the throttle body coolant hoses.

- Disconnect the coolant hoses.
- Plug the coolant hoses.

3. Disconnect the electronic throttle body electrical connector.

4. Remove the 4 bolts and the electronic throttle body.

- To install, tighten to 10 Nm {1.0 kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}.

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Clean and inspect the electronic throttle body gasket and install new if necessary.
